UK Kid’s Game Show: Brain Jitsu
Saturday, March 8th, 2008![]()
Last week I was in London and watched some kids shows on BBC. One of the more interesting ones I saw was Brain Jitsu. This is a game show with kids as contestants. In the show kids compete for the ultimate goal of a black belt. As they progress through the different colored belts contestants that do the worst in the challenge are eliminated down to the last two contestants competing in the ultimate challenge for the black belt. Along the way they train their brain with tips that help them in the challenges. The ultimate brainy wins by focusing their mind to make a ball move across a table before the opponent does so. They were a special headband that measures their brain waves in order to determine whose is most focused making the ball kind of magically move across the table. The show is hosted by a man that is the master of the dojo and gives the students (contestants) the tips to succeed. The show also features an oriental woman that helps demonstrate the challenges. This woman acts kind of like a dim witted person and is not exactly appealing to the main aspect of the show being smart or at least trying to be smart. She basically seems like she is trying to appear stupid, although she probably is at least of average intelligence.
Brain Jitsu show is on BBC Two Monday through Friday at 7:30am. Also, if you are in the UK you can watch the latest episodes on the BBC website by clicking on the episodes names on the episode list here.
