CN Real Block Coming to Cartoon Network on June 17

by

Cartoon NetworkToday at the movie theater before the previews for movies began there was a commercial sneak peek at the upcoming new block of programming on Cartoon Network that is called CN Real. This programming block will feature reality live action shows (yeah, live action is a necessary adjective since Total Drama Island/Action are animated reality type shows). The block premieres on June 17, 2009.

The block will bring at least five new shows to Cartoon Network, but it does not appear that they all will be premiering on June 17th. One of the new shows is called The Othersiders and is about paranormal, ghosts, etc and is supposed to premier on June 17th. A second is called Survive This which is a survival challenge type show, but the participants are not voted off and can choose to leave when they want to give up. This show also premieres on Cartoon Network on June 17, but it is a YTV show that has already begun to air in Canada.

Another one of the new shows is called BrainRush. This show is about contestants answering trivia questions while riding a roller coaster, which actually sounds interesting to me. This show premieres on June 20th. Destroy Build Destroy is another new show to premiere on June 20th. This show is about contestants destroying objects then rebuilding with the wreckage only to destroy their creation.

One other show that is to be part of the CN Real block of programming is Bobb’e says. This show is hosted by Bobb’e J. Thompson and is about him teaching sage advice by showing videos of people’s painful mistakes. I could not find any info about when this show is supposed to premiere other than 2009.

CN real is just a bad idea.
    A REALLY
    BAD
    IDEA

Why do you think it is a bad idea? I am not much into reality shows for the most part, but at least the game/challenge show ones like Brain Rush and Destroy Build Destroy sound interesting. I can see how this new block will alienate some of the fans of the Cartoon Network channel, though, as for like forever it has been the place to go if you want to watch animated stuff only, however I have not been that impressed with a lot of their line up.
