Imagination Movers: New Playhouse Disney Show Coming in September 2008
I was looking at the Playhouse Disney website page that lists the highlights for the current month and the next month and noticed that the September highlights include mention of a new show. The new show is called Imagination Movers.
The Playhouse Disney website for the show is not very informative, although it does have some music videos of the cast and coloring pages of each main character. I did discover that the Imagination Movers appear to be a music group and have their own website here, which is a lot more informative about them in general including a little about their upcoming show. Sounds like their show was supposed to have started airing earlier this year, but they had only filmed part of the season before the writer’s strike and in April began filming to finish their first season of 26 episodes.
The show sounds like it will be very musical. The group has been doing tours, so some of you may know their music, but there will be 20 to 30 new songs in the first season. The show is made to be entertaining and does sound like a Wiggles clone to some extent, however, it sounds like it will more appeal to the fact that kids have the capacity to learn and understand bigger concepts than some of the more babyish singing shows. The show will include educational concepts just like most other Playhouse Disney shows do. It appears that the educational aspect will mostly revolve around problem solving skills and teaching about brainstorming, which can be a very important concept when they get into grade school and beyond.
