Inside the September 2008 Issue of Nick Jr. Magazine
The Nick Jr. magazine is one of my favorite ones I subscribe to. It is great for kids and those that take care of kids, especially parents. Below is a short wrap up of what is found in the September 2008 issue of the Nick Jr. magazine. This issue is Friendship themed.
This edition’s cover features characters from Ni-Hao, Kai-Lan going down what looks like a slide. The characters on the cover are Kai-Lan, Rintoo, and Hoho.
The Parents Connect pull-out magazine is an Age-By-Age Playdate Planner with Off-To-School Tips. The Off-to-School tips go with the issue’s friendship theme very well because they give several ideas to help teach kids social skills to make and keep friends. The tips also give some ideas to help those going to school for the first time feel more comfortable about it, such as Play School and visiting the classroom before school starts. The Playdate Planner includes a section for 3+, 4+ and 5+ with ideas of games to play based on age. There is also some tips on having multi age playdates.
The main magazine has some friendship themed activities, but a good amount of the activities are just general play themed. A few of the activities are Best Buddies matching game, First Day Friends of Mine song, Give ‘Em a Hand hidden picture, and Kai-Lan’s Dino Games board game. There are also some good pull out things in this issue including Diego’s Dinosaur Collector Cards and pencil toppers of favorite Nick Jr. characters including Pablo from The Backyardigans and Diego from Go, Diego, Go!.
