Kids TV on DVD Releases 4/28
Here is this week’s edition of new releases of DVDs that feature kids shows. Most are previously seen episodes from television while sometimes the releases are straight to DVD releases of episodes or movies based on kids TV shows.
Spectacular Spider-Man Volume 4 - This release is a one disc set that has four episodes of the show (episodes 10 through 13). The episodes on this release finish the releasing of the show’s first season. This volume is proudly saying how it has one more episode than the previous three volumes, which each only had 3 episodes. Thus I guess it is a better deal than the other volumes, but you still need those if you want a complete collection of the show’s first season.x
X-Men Volume 1 - This release is a two disc set with 16 episodes (8 per disc) of the X-Men animated show based specifically on comic issues.
X-Men Volume 2 - This releaese is also a two disc set, but it has 17 episodes (8 on disc 1 and 9 on disc 2). I know it is expected that “kids” shows to be released in volumes and such and I will give these X-Men volumes credit for being way better than the many 4 episode volumes of kids shows out there. However, it does feel rip-off like when the two volumes come out on the same day. It just would not seem so bad if they were released on different days. As it is it seems like they should have been released as one set and not two since they both are being released today.
