Kids TV on DVD Review: Wiggly Wiggle Christmas
The Wiggles - Wiggly Wiggly Christmas is a very musical Christmas special, as can be expected from the Wiggles. This one does not really have an interconnecting plot like some Wiggles shows do, but I like it better than their mostly poor attempts at interconnecting plot ties between songs.
This also is somewhat of a Christian Christmas special, which is a good thing if you ask me because Christmas is after all supposed to be about Jesus being born. However, I know some people prefer a more secular Christmas and I respect that and thought I should note that upfront. The Christian aspect is not throughout, but it does include parts with the manager/nativity scenes and related songs.
The variety of songs they sing vary between classics, not so classics, and entirely Wiggles unique songs. The songs included are “Have a Very Merry Christmas,” “Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas,” “Here Comes Santa Claus,” “Go Santa Go,” “Ding Dong Merrily On High,” “Christmas Star,” “Unto Us, This Holy Night,” “Feliz Navidad,” “Jingle Bells,” “Christmas Picnic,” “Let’s Clap Hands for Santa Claus,” “Henry’s Christmas Dance,” “Jeff’s Christmas Tune,” “It’s A Christmas Party on th Good Ship Feathersword,” “Away in a Manger,” “Wags is Bouncing Around the Christmas Tree,” “Silent Night,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas Wiggly Christmas Medley.”
Overall this is a very festive Wiggles special and fun for young kids to watch and sing along with. The special features are limited to only a photo gallery and sing along versions of the songs, but the sing along version does really add to the amount of entertainment this DVD can offer.
