Kids TV on DVD: Twitches
Twitches - Betwitched Edition is a Disney Channel Original Movie that is based on a book. The movie is about two twins that first meet each other on their 21st birthday. They also soon learn that they have magic powers and are princesses in another dimension. They soon find that they must help save their original dimension while at the same time learn to get along with each other, as they struggle to become friends with their unique personalities. The plot is at times kind of seems like fluff that just tries to make it into a full length movie. It is not horrible, but it really is not worth watching more than every October when the Disney Channel tends to air it. Also, I do not recommend it for all young kids, as it does have some slightly scary parts.
The DVD version has some interesting special features, although they are limited. For one, there is an alternate ending that helps make the Twitches sequel make a little more sense about existing. The DVD specials also include clips about how the special effects were done to make the magic on screen seem real. If you watched the Disney Channel a lot around when the movie first aired, then the behind the magic thing probably will be familiar, as it is pretty much just the segments that originally aired on the Disney Channel.
Overall this DVD is not really worth owning since the special features are not that great. Plus, the movie does not have much replay value at least in my opinion.
