New Nickelodeon Movie Spectacular! Premieres Tomorrow
Tomorrow, February 16, 2009, is not only the premiere of the newest Disney Channel Original Movie called Dadnapped, but it is also the premiere of the newest Nickelodeon movie. I never really thought of Nickelodeon having Original Movies besides the ones based on their shows, but it seems they have kind of gotten into it lately, as a few months ago the Gym Teacher movie premiered on Nickelodeon. It is not that I never thought of Nickelodeon has a movie making company, as I remember loving the Harriet the Spy movie when I was a kid, but it just seems they do not put out regular channel premiere movies like Disney has done for a while. However, it seems that might be changing.
I like the idea of more kid’s television movies, however, I do not like the idea of Nickelodeon making what seems to be sort of a knock off of the music themed Disney movies, especially the High School Musical ones. Sure, I am annoyed enough that Disney has put out a lot of similar music themed movies lately, but it really does not make it any better with yet another channel putting out the stuff just because it seems to be a fad with kids right now. Obviously, I am more for watching the new non-music themed Dadnapped rather than Spectacular!, but I am going to record and watch both. I will be watching Dadnapped first, but I will at least give Nickelodeon a chance to make me not regret watching yet another music themed movie.
Putting aside my personal annoyance with music themed kids movies taking over the plot of the movie is somewhat unique in its own way. The plot is basically seems to be about a high school boy dealing with getting kicked out of his band because he is too cocky and trying to sing his way to the top on his own. Also, sounds like there is some love aspect to it, but probably a more minor part of the plot.

spectacular is the gratest movie on earth and i love all of the songs in it

I would not go as far as to consider it the greatest movie in my opinion, but I will admit the movie was better than I expected and the songs are pretty good

haha i worked on this movie. it turned out to be good and the people r right the songs wernt that bad.
