Tween TV
If you read this site regularly, you know that I generally cover shows aimed at the toddler set (because that’s what is usually on in my home) but this week I have decided to focus on some of the “tween” shows instead. I recently read an article by Mike Duffy of the Detroit Free Press that discussed how Disney is closing in on Nickelodeon in tween (ages 9-14) viewers. Nickelodeon still has quite an edge, but the Disney Channel is certainly increasing the level of competition. Between the made made for TV movies like High School Musical and shows like The Suite Life of Zack and Cody or Hannah Montana, Disney really seems to be catering to this age group.
I’ve got a few ideas of where to start, but I would love to know what shows your tweens are watching. Are there any in particular that I should make sure and watch?

I am not a big fan of Sister, Sister and will not let my girls (6 and 11) watch it. The mother in this show has lots of sexual comments and guestures.

My children watch a show called The Naked Brothers Band and I am not sure if they should be watching it? Please help. If you see a child watching something with the word ‘naked’ in it you take drastic measures
